One of my least favorite things to do in New York City (or any city for that matter) is drive around looking for parking. I have spent literally HOURS of my life doing just that. Up and down city streets searching for that spot that won’t fetch me a $115 parking ticket that is far enough away from the hydrant yet not too close to the car behind me so that he takes my bumper with him when he leaves.
However… As with almost everything else… There’s an app for that!
It is called Best Parking by BestParking.com. It really is quite glorious and it is definitely (in my opinion) the best parking app out there (hence, the name..hah!).
All you do is plug in what city you are in (there are tons of them), your exact location or destination (by address, landmark, neighborhood, or even attraction), when you’ll get there, and when you’ll be leaving. Then, it magically shows you all of the garages and street parking in the area. AND, if you choose to park in a garage and there is a coupon available, it will email it to you so you get the best price. Or, if you’re a cheapskate like me, you can just look at the street parking and depending on what time of day you’ll be arriving, it lets you know what streets are free, metered, or prohibited to park on.
This is one of my new favorite apps. Oh – how could I forget this. The BEST thing about the Best Parking app? It’s FREE! And you thought it couldn’t get any better…
